About AllerAir

AllerAir was established in 1996 after President Sam Teitelbaum's family member was diagnosed with Multiple Chemical Sensitivity (MCS). This prompted Teitelbaum to research and develop an air purifier that would safely and effectively provide relief. Along with his partner, Wayne Martin, Sam Teitelbaum developed a business model that combines the heart of a family business and the mindset of a fortune 500 competitor. AllerAir quickly established itself in the industry and initiated the development of over 100 different air purifier models. AllerAir features offices in the U.S. and Canada and specializes in units that can be used for residential, business and commercial applications. Some of their higher profile customers include the Mayo Clinic, Boeing Aircraft and the U.S. Army.

What Makes AllerAir Different?

AllerAir's goal is to provide businesses and residences with the cleanest indoor air available. Poor air quality is tied to increased dangers and illnesses and that is why AllerAir provides superior carbon filtration methods, inexpensive options and features and an extensive product line of air purifiers. Here are four advanced features AllerAir includes on its air purifiers:

Deepest Carbon Beds: On the market there are no deeper carbon beds and AllerAir purifiers also have up to 40 different proprietary carbon blends. The carbon beds are made of granular pieces of carbon instead of crushed carbon and to efficiently absorb any gasses, odors and chemicals and can be customized to include 4-120 pounds of carbon. AllerAir carbon features an extended lifespan and unparalleled absorption capacity as well.

Metal Housing: Instead of plastic housing, AllerAir purifiers feature metal housing. This metal housing includes powder-coated paint which prevents off gassing.

2 Additional Pre-Filters: These pre-filters line the carbon filters to provide increased filtration and also extend the performance of the HEPA filter.

Environmentally Friendly and Cost Effective: You can refill the carbon canister to ensure that your unit is eco-friendly and inexpensive to maintain.

Are Activated Carbon and HEPA Filters Important?

In a word: YES.

Why?

One of the most effective materials known today for treating airborne chemicals, gases and odors is activated carbon. It features safe and powerful adsorbing properties that make it ideal for use by the military, hospitals, scientific and industrial facilities and disaster response units. Larger, deeper bed carbon filters will adsorb more airborne pollutants because they provide adequate dwell time for pollutants to be adsorbed.

A filter that can remove at least 99.97% of airborne particles measuring 0.3 microns or larger is a High Efficiency Particulate Air (HEPA) filter. HEPA filters are considered the safest and most efficient way to eliminate particles and they are constructed of a dense web of fibers.

When an activated carbon and HEPA filter are used together, they provide the most comprehensive air purification available when treating airborne particles, chemicals, gases and odor. Activated carbon and HEPA filters combined are ideal for allergy relief, asthma prevention, multiple chemical sensitivity, cigar and cigarette odor removal, pet odor removal, newborn baby health and general home and office use.

The AllerAir Five Stage Filtration Process

  1. Captures large particles with a pre-filter.
  2. Traps 99.97% of airborne particles 0.3 microns in size with a medical-grade HEPA filter.
  3. Filters out chemicals, gases and odors with the activated carbon filter with pounds of granular virgin carbon.
  4. Also includes two anti-microbial filters.
  5. An optional UV (ultra violet) germicidal lamp can be added to most AllerAir air purifiers for an additional level of air filtration. UV is ideal for airborne mold mycotoxins, bacteria and viruses. It breaks down microorganisms and disrupts their DNA, which makes them unable to reproduce.

AllerAir Air Purifiers

The AirTube Series includes the AirTube Jr. and the AirTube. The air purifiers are perfectly portable air purification solutions with all the filtration power of a serious air cleaner. They are ideal for frequent travelers, people on the go and for use on desktops and small spaces measuring up to 100 square feet.

The AllerAir 4000 series includes the 4000 Exec and 4000 Exec UV.  These are great for places where space is minimal or a lighter, more portable machine is needed. They can be used in rooms that are maximum 1,200 square feet in size with a less severe level of air contamination. They contain up to 18 pounds of activated carbon for chemical, gas and odor adsorption and a HEPA filter to eliminate particles.

The AllerAir 5000 series includes the 5000 Exec, 5000 Vocarb and 5000 Exec UV. It's no surprise that these are AllerAir's most popular air purifiers considering their wide range of available options and maximum air cleaning abilities. The 5000 series promises an ideal indoor air quality solution for homes and businesses. Chemicals, gas and odor adsorption is handled by up to 27 pounds of activated carbon and particles that trigger allergies and asthma are removed by a HEPA filtration system.
