About Blueair
Founded in Sweden in 1996, Blueair has quickly earned a reputation for
high performance, technological innovation, and quality design. In the
United States, the Association of Home Appliance Manufacturers, an
independent organization, named the
BlueAir 501 Best of Class for its extraordinary performance in
equaling or surpassing 172 other products.
Blueair believes that clean air is a human right, and they are an
innovative company with an exclusive focus: to design and manufacture
the best air purification products available on the market today.
Blueair's award-winning and thoroughly tested air purifiers are for
those who don't want to make sacrifices when it comes to health,
function, or design. Blueair products help relieve the discomfort of
asthma and allergy symptoms, and can enhance one's overall respiratory
health and well-being.
Today, Blueair's headquarters are located in Stockholm, Sweden, and
Chicago, Illinois - two places known for their commitment to a healthy
environment. Blueair is constantly researching new clean air solutions
for homes, offices, and commercial locations.
Blueair: Combining the Best in
Electrostatic and Filter Technology
BlueAir bills their purifiers as a revolutionary combination of advanced
filter media and an encapsulated ion particle charging chamber that
makes it possible for the BlueAir purification system to achieve better
results when compared to either mechanical or electrostatic technology
alone. Blue Air purifiers purify the air through the following steps:
• Step One:
Air is drawn into the BlueAir system via their ultra-quiet fan.
• Step Two:
Airborne particles pass through an ion chamber and are electrically
charged. This causes them to adhere effortlessly to their exclusive
polypropylene filters.
• Step Three:
Charged particles are removed in their 3-stage Progressive Filter. Stage
1 captures larger particles like pollen and dust. Stages 2 and 3 filter
out even the smallest particles like cigarette smoke and exhaust.
Together, the encapsulated ion chamber and the 3-stage Filtration
Process combine to create BlueAir's patented HEPASilent™ technology -
delivering maximum airflow with minimum noise.
BlueAir air purifiers use a very low electrical current to minimize
ozone production and a sealed steel housing chamber to keep ozone
contained. Testing shows that the ozone concentration in their system's
output air is actually lower than that in the incoming air.
Patented HEPASilent™ Filtration
The standard HEPASilent™ filters found in Blueair air purifiers
incorporate non-toxic polypropylene filter media that traps particles,
along with activated carbon filter media to remove gases, odors, and
chemicals. Both the polypropylene and carbon filters are nontoxic and
completely recyclable.
The polypropylene filter media is central to the electrostatic
filtration component of Blueair air purifiers. Polypropylene molecules
are readily attracted to an electric field, as these molecules "feel" a
charged particle enter the filter media and turn toward it. In turn,
this creates a high attraction force which draws the particulate matter
toward the polypropylene fiber where it can be captured and eliminated
from the air you breathe. When compared to standard filter media made of
triclosan-coated paper or glass fibers found in other air purifiers,
polypropylene is far superior. Because these filters are waterproof,
Blueair air purification systems do not require chemical-based
bacteriostats or mold inhibitors. Therefore, the polypropylene filter
repels water, mold, and mildew without the use of chemical additives,
making it a much healthier option for those with respiratory problems or
lung sensitivity.
CADR Rated
Clean Air Delivery Rate, or CADR, is an important tool for comparing the
overall performance of an air purifier, and Blueair air purifiers
consistently receive high CADR scores. This is a measure of the total
volume of air that a particular air purifier cleanses of a specific
pollutant in one minute. When the particle size and filter efficiency of
any two air purifiers are the same, CADR is the key in determining the
more effective system.
Expressed in cubic feet per minute (CFM), CADR is also measured against
three "yardstick" pollutants: tobacco smoke, pollen, and dust. The
higher the CADR test numbers, the better the overall ability of the air
cleaner is in cleaning your indoor air, as CADR results reflect the
volume of air moving through the system; the percentages of particles
removed; and the size of the particles removed. CADR tests are
voluntarily conducted by the Association of Home Appliance Manufacturers
(AHAM), and test results are recognized as accurate and impartial by
organizations such as the EPA and the American Lung Association.
Although some air purifier manufacturers do not submit their air
purifiers for independent AHAM testing, Blueair believes that CADR
results should be central to a consumer's decision making process, as an
air purification system is an important investment in your family's
health and well-being.

Top Ten Reasons to Choose a Blueair
Air Purifier
1. AHAM Tested and Certified - The
Association of Home Appliance Manufacturers (AHAM) is an organization
that verifies the testing results of home appliances such as
refrigerators, air conditioners, and air purifiers. Although submitting
a product to the AHAM to be tested is strictly voluntary, Blueair has
consistently scored high ratings in CADR tests conducted by the AHAM.
2. Efficiency - Blueair's HEPASilent™ filter is able to
remove 99.97% of all particles 0.1 microns in size and larger.
3. Recommended by Leading Publications - Magazines such as
Modern Bride, Allergic Living, Lucky, and Men's Health have all sang the
praises of Blueair air purifiers.
4. Warranty - Blueair offers a warranty of 5 to 10 years
(depending on the model) against mechanical defects for their air
purifiers, giving you peace of mind when it comes to purchasing a
Blueair product.
5. Quiet, Yet Effective - Some pricey ionizers on the
market claim to be completely quiet, but studies have shown that many of
these units do not even work. Although Blueair air purifiers are quiet
(noise reduction was a part of the basic design principle), they are
still able to remove up to 99.97% of pollutants from the air you
breathe.
6. Bacteria-Resistant Filters - The waterproof
polypropylene fitters and activated carton repel water, mold, and mildew
without the use of chemical additives.
7. Safe from Ozone - Blueair air purifiers have all-steel
housing surrounding the ionization chamber, which helps reduce the
amount of escaping ozone. In fact, the activated carbon in Blueair air
purifiers absorb any ozone that may leak from the ionization chamber,
and the amount of ozone in the air exiting the air purifier is actually
lower than the air entering the air purifier.
8. Energy Efficient - Blueair air purifiers use a low
amount of electrical current in order to operate, and they are also part
of the Energy Star Program sponsored by the EPA and the U.S. Department
of Energy.
9. Surround Air Technology - Blueair air purifiers such as
the
Blueair 402 gently diffuse air through an area six times greater
than the average air purifier. Even on the lowest setting, Blueair air
purifiers produce virtually no noticeable draft, but still provide an
excellent air exchange rate.
10. Sophisticated Swedish Design - Blueair air purifiers
such as the award-winning
Airpod all sport a sleek and contemporary
look, and the company designs air purification systems to meet a home's
aesthetic standards without sacrificing performance.
