Description
Smoke and invisible vapors from cigarettes, pipes, and cigars are some of the
main causes of strong odors in homes, bars, restaurants, and other private and
public areas. Because of the chemical nature of smoke molecules, these odors are
persistent and extremely difficult to remove. Tobacco smoke also consists of over 4000
chemicals, 60 carcinogens, and other irritants. Exposure to these pollutants
can cause health problems ranging from increased allergy and asthma symptoms to
cancer and lung disease. While increased ventilation and air fresheners may
temporarily mask the odor, tobacco smoke can only be effectively removed
through the use of activated carbon.
Carbon is one of the most adsorbent materials known to man, and the Airpura T600
Air Purifier uses a 26 lb, 3 inch deep activated carbon bed specially design to
effectively adsorb the 4000 harmful carcinogenic chemicals and gases found in
tobacco smoke for areas up to 2000 square feet. The T600 also uses a TarBarrier
filter to trap the tars in tobacco smoke (much like a cigarette filter); 2
Micro-Suppress filters to suppress bacteria, antigens, and pathogens around the
carbon bed; and a HEPA-Barrier post filter to trap carbon dust and particulates.
A powerful motor and fan at 560 CFM (more CFM than any other compact unit
available) can recycle the air approximately every 30 minutes to keep refreshing
the air and to remove harmful smoke and odors. The T600 is also a great for
those with sensitive lungs or those suffering from multiple chemical sensitivity,
as its all-metal housing, felt gaskets, and sealed chamber for electric parts
increases safety and prevents off-gassing. In addition, the T600 has an optional
wall-mountable feature to position the unit high on a wall or column, making it
the ideal choice for areas such as homes and even public areas such as
restaurants, bars, and dedicated smoking areas.
