Environmental tobacco smoke is a mixture of particles that are emitted from
the burning end of a cigarette, pipe, or cigar, and smoke exhaled by the smoker.
Smoke can contain more than 4,000 compounds such as carbon monoxide and
formaldehyde, with more than 40 of these compounds being known to cause cancer
in humans and animals.
In addition to the negative health effects associated with tobacco smoke, smoke
can often permeate into porous surfaces such as curtains, upholstery, and
clothing. As well, smoke can also cause damage to interiors such as walls and
paint.
Thankfully, Surround Air has come up with a solution for smokers - the XJ-888
Smokeless Ashtray. By using a built-ionizer inside the dome, the XJ-888
releases air-purifying negative ions that causes smoke particles to
magnetically attract to the electrostatically-charged, stainless steel interior
of the dome. The electronic breeze helps reduce other airborne pollutants such
as bacteria, allergens, and dust, and an optional Activated Carbon (one
included) filter provides additional, enhanced odor control.
Other unique features of the Surround Air XJ-888 include a built-in night
light to illuminate your ashtray while smoking a darkened room, and a choice
of either wall plug or battery operation.
